First test train with own traction in Serbia

With Serbia in the mix, the ÖBB Rail Cargo Group (RCG) now operates in 13 countries with own traction. The first test train has now arrived in Sid – a milestone in the history of the RCG.

WMA: SEWAGE SLUDGE TRANSPORTS BY MOBILER

In accordance with the amended Waste Management Act (WMA), ÖBB Rail Cargo Group (RCG) processes sewage sludge transports from Vorarlberg to Lower Austria.

TRANSFER VILLACH–ITALY WITH TWO NEW DESTINATIONS

ÖBB Rail Cargo Group (RCG) offers a wide range of transport service for conventional rail transport to and from Italy. Now RCG expands the TransFER Villach–Italy with new connections to Treviso and Frosinone.

RCG NOW ALSO IN SERBIA WITH ITS OWN TRACTION

ÖBB Rail Cargo Group (RCG) has founded a new subsidiary in Serbia, bringing the number of countries in which it operates with its own staff and locomotives to 13. That means faster TransFER connections to Greece and Turkey for our customers.

FROM 2023 ONWARDS, RCG WILL TRANSPORT EVEN MORE WASTE BY RAIL

On 1 January 2023, the transport clause of the Waste Management Act (AWG) will come into force. It states that waste with a total weight of more than 10 tonnes that must be moved over a distance of 300 km or more must be transported by rail. ÖBB is investing €75 million in new rolling stock so that it will be able to handle the additional waste transports.
