For this reason, Plasser Diagnostics brings together the measuring and testing expertise of the Plasser & Theurer Group. The portfolio ranges from individual measuring and testing systems, through to complete equipment solutions for track recording vehicles, right up to fully integrated inspection vehicles, services, and data solutions. From data to a basis for sound decision making
The Plasser Diagnostics portfolio includes, among other things, high-precision measuring of track geometry and track position, turnout measuring under load and dynamic forces, video and radar technologies, and non-destructive ultrasonic testing of rails. Depending on the application and vehicle configuration, the systems record the condition of the infrastructure at speeds ranging from 0 to over 300 km/h – during normal railway operations, between scheduled train journeys, during the “yellow fleet’s” transfer travel, or track possessions.
Measuring is the first step in the process. Information from various measuring, testing, and inspection systems is consolidated and correlated to provide a more comprehensive picture of the condition of the infrastructure. This makes it possible to identify safety-relevant defects, to track changes and wear patterns as well as to plan and prioritize maintenance measures in a more targeted manner.
Real-time analysis and AI-based detection make relevant information available even while a measuring run is still in progress. As a result, the condition of the infrastructure can be assessed more quickly and maintenance needs identified at an earlier stage.
