Wabtec Wins a Significant Order for London Underground

Wabtec Corporation (NYSE: WAB) secured an order to supply Siemens Mobility with several products for the London Underground’s Piccadilly Upgrade Program. The deal, valued at more than $70 million, is for brakes, air conditioning and ventilation (HVAC), passenger information systems, and third-rail current collectors.

Alstom to supply 200 multilevel commuter rail cars to Chicago’s Metra for €650 million

Alstom has received an initial order from Metra, the commuter rail system in the Chicago metropolitan area serving the city of Chicago and surrounding suburbs, to supply 200 push-pull commuter rail cars. This follows Metra Board of Directors’ approval in January 2021 to award Alstom a vehicle procurement contract for up to 500 rail cars. This initial order of 200 rail cars is worth approximately €650 million

Hitachi Rail Awarded up to $2.2 Billion Contract with Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority for 8000-series Railcars

Hitachi Rail Washington, LLC. (“Hitachi Rail”) has been awarded a contract worth up to $2.2 billion with the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (“Metro”) to design and build 256 of the 8000-series railcar vehicle. The Contract includes options, if exercised, to build up to 800.
