This is a framework agreement with an initial scope of 180 trains with a capacity of 54,000 passengers. The agreement is valued at 1.7 billion euros, with the possibility of extending the supply by up to 380 additional units with a capacity of 170,000 passengers.

Founded in 1926, SNCB is Belgium’s national railway company, currently employing a workforce of over 17,000. It transports approximately 250 million passengers each year along its 3,700 kilometres of track. It operates InterCity, Regional and Suburban train services that connect major cities and regions, playing a central role in the country’s mobility network.

Finally, CAF's long track record of success in Benelux in recent years warrants mention. This includes key contracts for the supply of metro units for Brussels, metro and tram units for Amsterdam, and trams for Luxembourg, Utrecht, the Belgian Coast Line, Antwerp and Liège. Additionally, CAF has delivered more than 200 commuter trains to the Dutch rail operator NS (Nederlandse Spoorwegen), as well as the most recent projects such as 60 double-deck units also for NS and 10 commuter trains for the Dutch operator QBuzz. Solaris also holds a strong position in the bus sector, having supplied close to 550 buses to major operators in Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg.
