At the UITP Global Public Transport Summit 2025 in Hamburg (June 15-19, Hall A1, Stand A1350), Siemens Mobility will showcase solutions that "Transform Urban Mobility for Everyone". The company's groundbreaking digital technologies, already deployed in nearly 50 metropolitan areas worldwide, optimize lifecycle costs, enhance system availability, and maximize network capacity through cloud-based operations. These innovations enable operators to deliver more sustainable, comfortable, and cost-efficient transportation services. During the event, Siemens Mobility executives will share their expertise in two key panel discussions: CEO Michael Peter will address "From insight to impact: harnessing data, technology and planning to enhance the appeal of public transport services" (June 16, 4-5 PM), and Gerry Greiter, CEO of the Region North-East Europe, will explore "Capturing Digital Value within Public Transport" (June 17, 1-2 PM).
Visitors can learn more about the company's innovative mobility concepts and solutions that leverage artificial intelligence, cloud technology, and digital twins. The showcase will highlight key developments including Train2Cloud, Digital Station, RailXplore and the Siemens Xcelerator application Signaling X.
Train2Cloud represents a groundbreaking evolution in rail technology
Building upon the Communications-Based Train Control (CBTC) system Trainguard MT with a wayside-oriented, cloud-based approach. While cloud solutions have transformed numerous industries, railway applications faced unique challenges due to stringent safety requirements. Siemens Mobility overcame these challenges through the DS3 (distributed smart safe system) safety platform, enabling Safety Integrity Level 4 applications on commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) servers. This next-generation CBTC system delivers a comprehensive, sustainable solution optimized for metro operations. For operators, Train2Cloud enables efficient CBTC system management through high-performance COTS servers in their on-premises signaling data centers, facilitating easy upgrades and optimal capacity utilization. The system maintains the trusted CBTC principles while offering enhanced benefits including simplified maintenance, improved operational availability with headways up to 80 seconds, streamlined line extension capabilities, and enhanced longevity – all while preserving existing operational procedures.
Signaling X
Unveiled by Siemens Mobility at InnoTrans 2024, is a groundbreaking cloud platform based on Siemens Xcelerator that integrates various signaling systems for mainline and urban transit into a single, centralized Data Center. At its core, the platform utilizes Siemens Mobility’s DS3 platform, which enables safety-critical applications to run in a geo-redundant, cyber-secure cloud environment. Already proven in Austria and Spain, with Finland as the latest adopter, the system delivers up to 20% improvement in operational efficiency through reduced lifecycle costs. When combined with ATO over ETCS, operators can achieve up to 30% energy savings while significantly reducing delays across both long-distance and local transport networks, all while maintaining the highest safety and security standards.
Digital Station and RailXplore
Represent two key components of Siemens Mobility's digital transformation portfolio. Digital Station is a comprehensive solution that revolutionizes railway station management by centralizing control over all infrastructure facilities, from traction power to overhead catenary systems, while enhancing passenger flow through advanced security and information features. The system's multiple deployment options can reduce lifecycle costs by up to 20%, making it a cost-effective solution for modern station operations. Complementing this, RailXplore serves as a powerful digital analytics platform that provides real-time insights into railway operations through sophisticated asset monitoring and diagnosis. By delivering live passenger data and enhanced performance monitoring of communication-based signaling systems, RailXplore enables operators to make data-driven decisions that optimize operations, reduce disruptions, and ultimately improve the overall passenger experience.
Furthermore, visitors to Siemens Mobility's stand can explore the company's comprehensive software and customer service solutions. The software portfolio features the innovative Mobility Software Suite X, focusing on Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS) and Demand-Responsive Transport, alongside next-generation frontend applications, advanced mobile ticketing solutions and a wide range of software products that enhance operational efficiency, such as data analytics or disruption management tools. The modular TPS Suite complements these offerings with complete transport planning. In the customer service segment, Siemens Mobility demonstrates its commitment to operational excellence through digital services powered by Railigent X, comprehensive cybersecurity solutions, and infrastructure system care. The showcase is rounded off by MoBase the mobility marketplace for spares and rail products and monitoring and measurement solutions, ensuring reliable and efficient maintenance management across the entire rail system.
