CargoBeamer's intermodal service from Liège now connects Belgium with Parma in northern Italy. The route, which initially ran between Liège and Domodossola since January 2026, was successfully extended to Parma last week as planned. Trains now run directly from Belgium to the CEPIM Terminal in Parma, serving the region's important logistics and food hubs. The route continues to operate at its full frequency of 6 weekly roundtrips.
BLS Cargo continues to serve as rail traction provider on the connection. The service accommodates all major loading units, including craneable and non-craneable semi-trailers, refrigerated trailers, ADR and tank units, containers, swap bodies, and specialized equipment. The Liège – Parma connection is part of CargoBeamer's broader strategy to build a dense, high-frequency intermodal network across the Alps, offering scalable and climate-friendly transport solutions for the European logistics sector.
