Siemens Mobility presents innovations and solutions at Transport Logistic 2025

Siemens Mobility is presenting the Vectron AC with a battery power module at the Transport Logistic trade fair. With the module, the Vectron AC can operate over short distances without an overhead power line, offering an environmentally friendly option for covering the so-called “last mile” of transport and performing shunting operations without an overhead line. The required energy is supplied by a high-voltage lithium-ion battery module with an intelligent battery management system for controlling the charging and discharging processes.

With the battery power module, our customers can expand their range of operations in an environmentally friendly way and further reduce their CO2 emissions. The unique modularity of the Vectron equipment gives rail operators full operational flexibility, even in the absence of overhead power lines. By eliminating the need for diesel-powered shunting locomotives, the battery power module not only makes economic sense, but also benefits the environment. The new functional package marks an important step towards providing sustainable rail transport by helping reduce emissions and noise pollution.

Operating across borders
Presentation of the Vectron MS is one of the highlights at the Siemens Mobility stand. Designed for cross-border service throughout Europe, the multi-system locomotive offers customers optimal operational flexibility.

Rails Services
With its Smart Asset Suite – powered by Railigent X – Siemens Mobility is setting new standards in the digitalization of rail operations. The comprehensive software solution offers a wide range of applications that enable both the analysis and optimization of daily rail operations. The software not only increases locomotive availability but also accelerates it – ensuring more efficient and reliable service. Available as a digital upgrade for every Vectron locomotive, the Smart Asset Suite is a valuable tool for supporting rail operators in optimizing their operations.

At Transport Logistic 2025, Siemens Mobility is also presenting Railcover®, the modular service offering for locomotives, the MoBase online marketplace for railway spare parts and Rail service hub, a solution based on Railigent X that offers customers a platform for predictive maintenance and optimization of their fleets.
